About the Urs-e-Shareef
The Urs-e-Shareef of Hazrat Pattherwale Saheb R.A is renowned not only as a sacred spiritual event but also as a remarkable cultural tradition. Since 1900 AD, the annual Urs has been celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm. A highlight of these celebrations is the grand Poetic Symposium—Mushaira—that gathers poets and devotees from across the country, fostering a sense of unity, devotion, and literary appreciation. This yearly Mushaira, held on the occasion of the Urs, stands as one of the oldest continuous poetic gatherings in the subcontinent. Over the decades, it has attracted eminent Urdu poets and has become a platform where Sufi values, spiritual heritage, and the beauty of Urdu poetry are celebrated in unison. The event not only honors the legacy of Hz. Pattherwale Saheb R.A but has also enriched the cultural tapestry of the community, nurturing generations of poets and enthusiasts. The significance of this Mushaira deepened with a historic achievement: a world record was set by organizing the poetic symposium for an unprecedented 15 consecutive days, reflecting the community's passion for poetry and their unwavering commitment to the saint’s legacy. In organizing such an extended Mushaira, the community not only celebrated the Urs with devotion but also established a world record, showcasing both cultural and organizational excellence. This milestone continues to inspire and reinforce the central place of poetry, tradition, and collective spiritual expression in the Urs-e-Shareef of Hazrat Pattherwale Saheb R.A.
